Job Description

Are you a skilled and hands-on professional with solid experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty equipment? We are seeking a competent and safety-conscious Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team and ensure the reliability and performance of our construction machinery and fleet.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of mechanical systems used in engineering and construction environments, and a proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults effectively.


🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs of heavy-duty equipment including bulldozers, excavators, cranes, graders, backhoes, and trailers.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities are completed efficiently and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate service records, logs, and inspection reports.
  • Perform field service repairs as needed on remote project sites.
  • Monitor and report on equipment condition and recommend preventive measures to reduce downtime.
  • Work closely with the Transport and Site Managers to schedule inspections and emergency repairs.
  • Support in managing spare parts inventory and ordering replacement components when required.

🎓 Qualifications and Experience:

  • Technical Diploma or Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in the engineering, construction, or mining sector.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical diagnostics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
