Job Description

Role Summary

• Reporting to the Chief Technical and Operations Officer (CTOO) the Head of Technical and Operations would be responsible for managing the execution of Technical & Operations Department’s (TOSD) core functions
• This includes and delivery, portfolio monitoring, innovation integration and market intelligence

Job Responsibilities

Prioritised responsibilities of the Head of Technical and Operations including the following:

• Support the CTOO in policy advisory and sector reform initiatives related to mining operations and value addition
• Lead and review technical, geological, environmental and regulatory standards
• Supervise the production of market analysis, commodity reports and sector intelligence to support in investment decision making
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, sustainable mining practices and digital solutions relevant to the organisational’s portfolio

Qualification Required & Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management, mining operations, technical consulting or mineral investment rles
• A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, Geology, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred
• Professional certification such as PMP, Chartered Engineer (CEng) or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred
