Truecoco is also Ghana’s first industrial biochar producer, converting waste coconut husk into virgin biochar to improve soil health and capture atmospheric carbon.

Role Description The Finance & Operations Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Tema, supporting day-to-day financial and operational activities across the business.

About the Role

We’re looking for an organized and detail-oriented professional to help manage accounting, administrative, and logistics functions. This role is central to keeping financial records accurate, office operations running smoothly, and shipments moving efficiently, ideal for someone who thrives across multiple areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

Maintain accurate financial records and process invoices, receipts, payments, and other accounting transactions in a timely manner.

2. Financial Documentation & Reporting

Support accounts payable processes, maintain payroll-related documentation, tax and statutory records, and prepare financial schedules and reports as required.

3. Office Administration

Coordinate day-to-day administrative activities, maintain organized physical and electronic filing systems, manage office documentation, and provide general administrative support to the team.

4. Records & Operational Support

Maintain accurate, up-to-date company records, coordinate documentation flow across departments, and support the smooth execution of routine operational activities.

5. Logistics & Shipment Coordination

Coordinate and track international shipments, liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, transporters, and other logistics partners, and prepare/process shipping and customs documentation.

6. Compliance & Coordination

Support internal controls and compliance requirements, follow up on outstanding items, and ensure timely reporting to management.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in an accounting, administrative, or logistics support role
  • Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and strong Excel skills
  • Familiarity with shipping/customs documentation is an advantage
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external partners
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Discretion in handling confidential financial and company information
