PassionAir is seeking an experienced, analytical, and results-oriented Finance Manager to join its Finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, compliance, and process improvement.
The Finance Manager will work closely with the Senior Finance Manager and other departments to provide reliable financial information and strategic insights that support sound business decisions and the company’s overall objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Finance Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and provide guidance to Assistant Finance Managers responsible for accounts payable, revenue management, and financial reporting.
- Coordinate the activities of the Finance team to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching, guidance, and support where necessary.
- Promote accountability, accuracy, collaboration, and high professional standards within the Finance function.
2. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure financial reporting is conducted in accordance with IFRS and other applicable accounting standards.
- Review and analyse financial information to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and areas requiring management attention.
- Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to the Senior Finance Manager.
- Support the preparation and presentation of financial information for management decision-making.
3. Budgeting & Financial Forecasting
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
- Work with relevant departments to ensure budgets are aligned with organizational objectives.
- Monitor actual financial performance against approved budgets.
- Analyse budget variances and provide explanations, recommendations, and corrective actions where required.
- Contribute to financial modelling and planning activities to support business growth and operational efficiency.
4. Internal Controls & Compliance
- Support the development, maintenance, and strengthening of effective internal financial controls.
- Ensure financial processes adequately safeguard company assets and promote accurate financial reporting.
- Monitor compliance with applicable tax requirements, statutory obligations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Identify control weaknesses and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Support the implementation of measures designed to minimize financial and operational risks.
5. Financial Process Improvement
- Review existing finance processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Recommend and implement appropriate financial management best practices.
- Support the automation and improvement of financial reporting and accounting processes where appropriate.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving the overall efficiency of the Finance function.
6. Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with other departments by providing financial guidance and support for operational and strategic initiatives.
- Serve as a key point of contact between the Finance team and external auditors, tax authorities, regulators, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Provide financial information and explanations to support business and operational decisions.
- Maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
7. Team Development
- Mentor and develop Assistant Finance Managers and other Finance team members.
- Identify training and development needs within the team.
- Set performance expectations and support team members in achieving their objectives.
- Encourage continuous learning, teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
- Carry out other finance-related responsibilities assigned by the Senior Finance Manager.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A recognized professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in finance, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
- Practical experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management practices.
