Salary Range: GHS 2,500 – GHS 3,500

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fibre Optic Technician to support the deployment, installation, and maintenance of fibre optic networks. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering reliable, high-speed internet connectivity to customers while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install fibre optic cables, including aerial, underground, and direct burial installations.
  • Perform fibre optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Connect customers to the fibre network, ensuring reliable and high-speed service delivery.
  • Conduct site surveys and feasibility assessments for new installations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in fibre optic deployment, installation, or maintenance.
  • Certificate or Diploma in Fibre Optics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of fibre optic technology and network architecture.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Must have the ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) deployment.
  • Relevant technical certifications in fibre optics or related fields.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and industry regulations.

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and under varying weather conditions.
  • High level of safety awareness and adherence to procedures.

Working Conditions

  • Outdoor fieldwork in diverse weather conditions.
  • Frequent travel to various project sites across the country.
  • Use of safety equipment and strict adherence to safety standards.
