Job Description
Responsible for day-to-day supervision of field activities including land preparation, planting, crop maintenance, harvesting, and labor coordination. Ensures adherence to good agricultural practices (GAP), safety standards, and effective use of resources to achieve farm production targets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and supervise daily farm operations such as planting, weeding, fertilizing, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting.
- Monitor field workers’ performance and ensure task completion according to timelines and quality standards.
- Ensure that all agronomic activities align with the farm’s operational schedule and crop calendar.
- Train and guide farm laborers on correct field techniques and safety procedures.
- Inspect crops regularly for signs of pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies and report issues to the Plantations Manager.
- Maintain and ensure proper use of tools, machinery, and other farm equipment; report any faults or maintenance needs.
- Keep accurate records of farm activities, labor attendance, input usage, and daily output.
- Enforce safety and environmental regulations among field workers.
- Assist the Plantations Manager in implementing new farming practices or pilot projects.
- Ensure that operations follow approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
- Support the coordination of harvest logistics including collection, weighing, and transportation of produce.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Plantations Manager or Senior Management.
