Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Facilities Officer to support the management and maintenance of the organization’s buildings, grounds, and operational services. The role is critical in ensuring a safe, functional, and compliant environment through effective facility oversight, routine inspections, and coordination of maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the upkeep and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Ensure all facility areas are safe, functional, and well-maintained through regular inspections and timely interventions.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities, including supervising internal teams and external service providers.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including fire safety requirements, first aid readiness, and building regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections and risk assessments across the facility.
- Assist in the selection, negotiation, and monitoring of service contractors for cleaning, maintenance, and landscaping.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly facility checks to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across office and public areas, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness.
- Identify, escalate, and support the resolution of facility-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a similar facilities or maintenance role.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to supervise and manage small teams effectively.
- Good administrative and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff, contractors, and stakeholders.
