Job Description

Role Overview

African Aspirations (AA) is seeking an Engagement Manager to lead client delivery across all of AA’s divisions. This entails Transaction Execution in AA’s Business Brokerage (M&A) division as well as Strategic Advisory in AA’s Consulting, Funding and Valuation divisions.

The Engagement Manager will support multiple Partners and manage multiple analysts in the AA Group across multiple client deliverables.

This is a full-time position working out of African Aspirations’ office in Osu, Accra, Ghana.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of M&A (Business Brokerage) transactions, including:
    • Financial Analysis
    • Transaction Document Review
    • Marketing Material (Teasers)
    • Confidential Information Memoranda
    • Investor Presentations Preparation
    • Due Diligence Support
  • Lead the delivery of Investor Readiness and Bankability solutions for AA’s Business Funding clients, including:
    • Feasibility Assessment
    • Financial Modeling
    • Business Plans
    • Investor Presentation Packages
  • Lead the delivery of Strategic Solutions for AA’s Business Consulting clients.
  • Supervise the development of integrated financial models needed for Business Valuations and review/sign off on valuation reports and client presentations.

Ideal Profile

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Progress toward or possession of relevant professional designations such as:
    • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
    • Actuarial qualifications (FSA, FIA)
    • Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA)
    • Risk Management certifications
    • Chartered Insurer/Banker
    • Or other quantitative professional qualifications.
  • Strong practical experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and the ability to leverage these tools to solve problems and improve client outcomes rather than relying solely on traditional methods.
  • Strong expertise in financial statement analysis, including:
    • Income Statements
    • Balance Sheets
    • Cash Flow Statements
    • Statement of Shareholders’ Equity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of six (6) years’ professional work experience in Financial Services or related industries, including:
    • Banking
    • Insurance
    • Consulting
    • Brokerage
    • Advisory
    • Private Equity
    • Asset Management
  • Master’s Degree in:
    • Finance
    • Accounting
    • Economics
    • Business
    • Or a related discipline.

Note: Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field may also be considered if they possess strong professional experience and demonstrate an excellent fit with the required skills and attributes.
