Position Summary
The Company Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned company vehicles for the transportation of personnel, clients, goods, and materials. The role requires excellent driving skills, strict adherence to safety regulations, and professional conduct while representing the company on the road.
Key Responsibilities
1. Driving & Transportation
- Safely operate assigned company vehicles
- Transport employees, clients, and visitors as assigned
- Deliver goods, materials, and equipment to designated locations
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely arrivals
- Adapt to traffic conditions, road diversions, and unforeseen delays
2. Vehicle Care & Maintenance
- Conduct daily pre-trip inspections (oil, water, tires, fluid levels, etc.)
- Keep vehicles clean and well-maintained (interior and exterior)
- Report mechanical faults and maintenance issues promptly
- Monitor dashboard warning lights and gauges during operation
- Ensure vehicles are properly secured when parked
3. Safety & Compliance
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and road safety regulations
- Maintain a valid Ghana driver’s license and required certifications
- Enforce seat belt compliance for all passengers
- Avoid mobile phone use while driving
- Report accidents or incidents immediately
- Participate in safety briefings and training sessions
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate trip logs (mileage, fuel consumption, routes)
- Complete daily vehicle checklists and trip sheets
- Submit fuel and toll expense reports as required
- Ensure vehicle registration and insurance documents remain valid
- Communicate delays or operational issues to the supervisor promptly
5. Customer Service & Professional Conduct
- Provide courteous and professional service to passengers
- Assist with loading and unloading materials when required
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times
- Represent the company positively to clients and the public
- Handle concerns or complaints in a professional manner
6. Additional Duties
- Run official errands and perform assigned deliveries
- Provide support for minor vehicle maintenance tasks
- Provide backup coverage for other drivers when required
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications & Experience
License & Legal Requirements
- Valid Ghana Driver’s License (Class C or D, depending on vehicle type)
- Clean driving record (no major violations within the past two years)
- Minimum age: 23 years
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years’ professional driving experience
- Experience driving within Accra and the Greater Accra Region
- Good knowledge of major roads and routes across Ghana
- Experience operating various vehicle types (light commercial vehicles, vans, trucks) is an advantage

- Excellent defensive driving skills in varied road and weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations

Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and drive for extended periods
- Good vision (corrected or uncorrected)
- Physical ability to load and unload materials
- Flexibility to work weekends, overtime, and extended hours when required
Working Conditions
- Regular exposure to traffic and varying road conditions
- Driving in different weather conditions
- Occasional overtime and weekend assignments
Special Notes
- Recruitment will be conducted in phases based on operational needs
- Assignment may involve pool vehicles or long-term company vehicles
- The company reserves the right to conduct random drug and alcohol testing
