Job Description
A reputable public institution is seeking to recruit a highly qualified, experienced and results-oriented professional for the position of Director, Finance.
Job Purpose
•To provide leadership, technical and administrative direction for the efficient and effective management of the finance functions of the institute
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to:
•Provide inputs for the formulation of financial policies of the institute
•Lead the implement, monitoring and evaluation of financial programmes and activities
•Ensure the efficient and effective management of the institute’s financial, human and material resources
•Mobilize financial resources to support the institute’s operations and strategic objectives
•Oversee the preparation, consolidation and timely submission of annual budgets and periodic financial reports
•Ensure accurate analysis, interpretation and reporting of financial statements
•Ensure compliance with applicable financial management laws, regulations, fiscal policies and accounting standards (IPSAS).
•Oversee the development, implementation and review of financial control systems and accounting manuals
•Ensure the implement of audit recommendations and strengthen internal controls
•Oversee the performance management system within the Directorate
•Maintain effective collaboration with relevant ministries, Departments, Agencies and stakeholders on financial matters
Qualification Required & Experience
•A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution
•Must be a Chartered Member of a recognized professional body such as ICAG, ACCA, CPA or CIMA.
•A minimum of 10 years post-bachelor’s relevant work experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management position in a reputable institution
•Strong knowledge of public financial management systems and regulatory frameworks

•Strong knowledge of budgeting, auditing and financial control systems
•Good understanding of labour laws and public sector administration

Age Limit: Applicants should not be above 55 years at the time of appointment
