A reputable Rural Bank in the Bono-East is looking for a dynamic, ambitious, performance-driven and result-oriented individual full of innovations to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer of a Rural Bank
Role / Purpose
• The successful applicant will provide overall strategic and operational leadership. He will be responsible for implementing the board’s directives, ensuring the bank’s financial health is always good and maintaining high standards of corporate governance in compliance with Banks and specialized Deposit-Taking institutions Act, 2016, Act 930 and the Bank of Ghana
Responsibilities
• Formulate and execute long-term business strategies to drive growth, profitability and market dominance
• Ensure total compliance with the Banks and specialized Deposit-Taking institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930), Apex Bank Regulations (LI 1825), 2006, companies Act 2019 (Act 992) and Bank of Ghana directives
• Oversee the bank’s risk management framework, internal controls and ethical standards
• Leverage on ARB Apex Bank PLC technological innovations to expand digital banking and the adoption of FinTech trends to enhance customer experience
• Serve as the primary liaison between the Bank and Bank of Ghana, ARB Apex Bank PLC, Association of Rural Banks (ARB), shareholders and other external regulators
• Efficiently manage the Human, Financial and physical resources of the Bank to achieve the organiastional goals
• Lead the systematic integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into the Bank’s long-term business strategies
• Manage the bank’s annual budget and ensure it meets all capital adequacy requirements
Qualification Required & Experience
• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Banking, Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline from a recognized University plus at least 10 years work experience in the banking industry with 7 years in Senior Managerial role. Knowledge and experience in rural banking will be an added advantage
OR
• A professional qualification in ACIB, ICAG, ACCA or any other relevant professional qualification plus a minimum of 10 years post-qualification work experience in the banking industry, with at least 7 years in a key managerial role. Experience in rural banking will be an added advantage
Core Competencies & Skills
• In-depth knowledge of the Banks and Specialised Deposit-Taking institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930) and LI 1825
• Awareness of local and international regulations (e.g, IFRS, BASEL II/III)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in core banking systems (T24) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills
• Demonstrated experience in leading organizational change and large-scale transformation
Remuneration: Negotiable
