Job Description

Are you a highly experienced and strategic accountant with a passion for driving financial health and growth? We are seeking a seasoned Accountant to manage our financial operations, provide insightful analysis, and contribute to our long-term business strategy. The ideal candidate will be a meticulous professional with a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

This remote position is perfect for an independent and proactive expert who can take ownership of our financial processes and provide valuable guidance to our leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Management & Strategy: Oversee all financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll. Contribute to strategic financial planning and budgeting.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Compliance & Audits: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and accounting standards. Manage and prepare for internal and external audits.
  • System & Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to our accounting systems and financial processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and manage communications with tax authorities.

Requirements

  • Proven Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience as an accountant. Experience in a senior or lead role is a plus.
  • Advanced Knowledge: A deep understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting.
  • Software Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency with accounting software like QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) are required.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of providing meaningful financial insights.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting financial data to both a financial and non-financial audience.
  • Certifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
