Purpose of the Role
To execute lubrication activities as part of the preventive maintenance program, reducing equipment wear
and tear while improving asset reliability and supporting the achievement of maintenance cost and plant
performance targets within the Packaging Hall.
Key Accountabilities
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
by promoting a zero-harm culture, adhering to all site safety rules, operational procedures, and
Permit-to-Work requirements, and challenging unsafe behaviors and practices. - Perform condition monitoring activities on gearboxes, flange bearings, and other rotating
equipment, and carry out the replacement of worn seals, damaged bearings, and related
components as required. - Support the mechanical maintenance team in maximizing plant availability and operational
efficiency through the effective execution of planned preventive maintenance activities. - Optimize equipment performance and reliability by implementing approved lubrication schedules
and requirements for assigned plant and equipment. - Manage lubrication materials, consumables, tools, and spare parts, ensuring proper utilization,
accountability, and stock control. - Provide support during equipment breakdowns and maintenance activities, demonstrating
flexibility and collaboration in resolving operational issues. - Participate actively in training and development initiatives to enhance personal and team
capabilities while sharing knowledge and best practices with colleagues and contractors. - Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance records, condition monitoring reports, inspection
sheets, checklists, and other required documentation.
Key Requirements – Qualifications, Experience, Skills etc.
- BSc or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a
related discipline. - Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in operations, maintenance, process control, or
performance management within a brewery, beverage, food manufacturing, or FMCG
environment. - Good understanding of preventive maintenance principles, condition monitoring techniques, and
equipment reliability practices. - Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably SAP.
- Sound understanding of Permit-to-Work systems, SHE policies, statutory requirements, and
responsibilities. - Demonstrated understanding of teamwork, continuous improvement methodologies, preventive
maintenance, and problem-solving techniques.
