Job Summary
You will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing company vehicles, harvesting machinery, and related equipment in the field. The role is critical to ensuring optimal operational efficiency and minimising equipment downtime. See the application process at the end of the advertisement.
Main responsibilities
A. Maintenance and Repairs
- Carry out preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on company vehicles, harvesting machines, tractors, loaders, and other mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and provide timely repairs to minimise operational downtime.
- Conduct daily inspections of machines and vehicles assigned to the harvesting team.
- Repair engine, hydraulic, transmission, braking, suspension, and electrical system faults where applicable.
- Ensure all machines are maintained according to manufacturer recommendations and company maintenance schedules.
- Any other duties
B. Harvesting Team Support

- Diagnose mechanical faults and provide timely repairs to minimise operational downtime.
- Conduct daily inspections of machines and vehicles assigned to the harvesting team.
- Repair engine, hydraulic, transmission, braking, suspension, and electrical system faults where applicable.
- Ensure all machines are maintained according to manufacturer recommendations and company maintenance schedules.
C. Workshop and Record Keeping
- Maintain proper service and repair records for all assigned vehicles and machines.
- Report major faults, parts requirements, and replacement needs to the Fleet Management Officer
- Ensure tools and workshop equipment are properly used, maintained, and accounted for.
- Support the implementation of battery, tyre, and service management policies where required.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all company safety procedures and workshop safety standards.
- Ensure machines released after repair are safe and fit for operation.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards within the workshop and work areas.
Job Essentials
- Certificate, Diploma, or technical qualification in Auto Mechanics, Heavy Duty Mechanics, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance.
- Experience working with harvesting machines, tractors, loaders, and fleet vehicles is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance systems.
- Must hold a valid national ID card.
- Must have a valid health Insurance card.
