Job Description
Job Purpose
To lead, implement, monitor, and continuously improve Environmental Management and Occupational Health & Safety (EHS) systems within the factory. The role ensures full compliance with regulatory requirements, food safety standards, and organizational policies while promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally sustainable workplace.
Key Responsibilities
EHS Leadership & Compliance
- Develop and implement EHS systems, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory and company standards.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations through effective liaison with regulatory bodies and timely statutory reporting.
- Lead internal and external audits, supporting certification and compliance requirements.
Monitoring & Risk Management
- Monitor environmental performance (air, water, waste), pest control activities, and workplace safety conditions.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and audits, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring proper reporting and resolution.
Training & Culture
- Deliver EHS training, inductions, and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Promote a strong safety-first and environmentally responsible culture across the organization.
Emergency Preparedness & Systems
- Ensure availability and maintenance of emergency systems, including firefighting equipment and preparedness plans.
Reporting & Collaboration
- Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and performance data, including key safety and environmental indicators.
- Collaborate with Quality and other departments to ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and certification requirements.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Environmental Management and Occupational Health & Safety.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or FMCG is highly preferred.
Certifications (Advantageous)
- NEBOSH or equivalent Occupational Health & Safety certification
- ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems)
- ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems)
- HACCP or other food safety certifications
Core Skills & Competencies
- EHS Regulations: Strong knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and local regulatory requirements.
- Risk & Compliance: Expertise in risk assessment, incident investigation, and compliance audits.
- Environmental Monitoring: Knowledge of pest control, sanitation, and environmental monitoring systems.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and evaluate trends.
- Microsoft Office: Proficiency in MS Office tools.
