Role Overview
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role is critical in maintaining brand reputation, customer trust, and operational excellence within a food production environment.
You will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems while working closely with production, operations, and regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities (Expanded)
1. Quality Management Systems (QMS) Development
- Design, implement, and maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS).
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and quality manuals.
- Ensure all processes are properly documented and aligned with industry standards.
2. Production & Process Quality Control
- Monitor daily production activities to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits across production lines.
- Ensure products meet defined specifications for taste, safety, packaging, and consistency.
- Identify risks and implement preventive quality controls.
3. Regulatory Compliance & Audits
- Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards such as ISO, GMP, HACCP, FDA, and GSA.
- Prepare for and manage internal and external audits.
- Maintain accurate documentation required for certifications and regulatory approvals.
4. Documentation & Quality Records Management
- Review, approve, and control all quality-related documentation.
- Maintain proper records for traceability, audits, and compliance purposes.
- Ensure version control and accessibility of all quality documents.
5. Training & Quality Culture Development
- Train staff on quality standards, hygiene practices, and SOPs.
- Build a strong quality-focused culture across all departments.
- Continuously assess staff competency and provide refresher training where necessary.
6. Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement
- Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and production deviations.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Track quality performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Background in Food Science, Quality Assurance, or related field
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO)
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Leadership ability to train and manage teams
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills
