Job Description

Scope of Work:

This fellowship will be for a duration of six (6) months with an immediate start upon selection.

Under the supervision of the ITJA leadership, and in close collaboration with ICTJ Communications Team, the Communications Fellow will be expected to:

  • Draft content for all ICTJ social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, X) following donor communications guidelines
  • Provide communications support before, during and after meetings, conferences and other events (event invitations, promotional materials, live posts, stories, photography, draft press releases)
  • Track social media performance metrics
  • Adapt long-form publications (reports, policy briefs, etc.) into shorter accessible formats for dissemination
  • Create infographics and other visual assets on the project’s impact and results
  • Support proofreading and formatting of publications
  • Draft short articles and program spotlights for the website
  • Provide other communications support to the team as needed

Requirements:

Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, international relations or a related field of study. Relevant master’s degree accepted.

Required Skills:

  • Strong written and editing skills
  • Familiarity with design tools, including Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Demonstrated interest in transitional justice, human rights and NGO work
  • Experience producing communications content for development, governance, or human rights projects
  • Proficient in English is a must; priority given to candidates also proficient in French, Portuguese or Arabic.
