The flagship Technovation Girls program inspires girls and young women (ages 8 to 18) to identify a problem in their community and work together in teams to develop a mobile app or AI-based solution.

Technovation is building one of the largest AI and tech talent pipelines in the world, reaching more than 400,000 people across 160+ countries through its programs, with 87% of its alumni over 18 planning to or currently pursuing STEM degrees.

About this Opportunity 

Technovation is seeking a part-time consultant to provide ongoing support services for our WordPress site. The Technovation WordPress instance hosts our curriculum and other program materials and is a key source of information about Technovation Girls programs. We are looking for a consultant to provide 35-40 support hours each month with the option for additional hours based on project requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing WordPress expertise who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about advancing Technovation’s mission to inspire girls and families to become leaders and innovators. The consultant will work closely with the Technovation marketing and software development teams.

Key Responsibilities: 

Key responsibilities for this consulting role include:

  • Complete technical updates (70%)
    • Update plugins as needed and troubleshoot any related upgrade issues
    • Complete any required security updates and investigate any related issues
    • Troubleshoot any technical issues related to page and content updates including problems with the site theme
    • Document any technical changes needed
  • Deploy site to production (20%)
    • Complete weekly production deployment process working with the Marketing Operations Manager to confirm all in process updates are ready for production and backups are in place
    • Spot check changes post-deployment to ensure updates have successfully deployed
    • Assist with updates to the deployment process as needed
  • Assist with website updates (10%)
    • Complete website updates including the creation of new pages, the addition of images, content block changes, etc based on requests from Technovation team members
    • Track all work in Asana, following standard processes outlined by the Marketing Team

Ideal Candidate: 

  • Has 2-5 years of experience working with WordPress instances including maintenance, security, and upgrades
  • Is organized and a strong communicator who is comfortable explaining technical details to colleagues in a clear and efficient way
  • Has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a small and fully-remote team
  • Is comfortable handling competing priorities and knows when to ask for help

Timeline and Compensation: 

This contract is for a minimum of six months with the potential to be extended upon mutual agreement of Technovation and the consultant. The monthly fee covers 35-40 hours per month with the option to complete additional projects as needed and if both parties agree to the scope of work.
