Job Title: Finishing Architect

Location: Kwahu, Eastern Region

Job Type: Full-time

Reports To: Senior Architect.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Finishing Architect is responsible for managing all aspects of architectural finishing works,

including detailed design development, material selection, quality control, and site

coordination for interior and exterior finishes. This role ensures that all finishing works are

executed to the highest quality standards, in line with design intent, specifications, and project

timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed finishing designs, drawings, and specifications for internal and external

architectural finishes

• Select and specify finishing materials including floorings, wall finishes, ceilings, joinery,

paint, cladding, and architectural hardware

• Ensure all finishing designs align with project concept, client expectations, and budget

constraints

• Coordinate finishing designs with structural, MEP, and other disciplines to ensure

seamless integration

• Review and approve material samples, mock-ups, and shop drawings submitted by

contractors

• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the quality and progress of finishing works

• Ensure all finishing works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality

standards

• Identify and resolve site issues related to finishes, including defects, discrepancies, and

installation challenges

• Liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and proper installation of

finishing materials

• Monitor site progress against finishing schedules and report variances to the Project

Manager

• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of finishing materials

• Maintain records of material approvals, samples, site instructions, and inspection reports

• Ensure all finishing works comply with relevant building codes, fire safety regulations,

and accessibility standards

• Promote and ensure adherence to health and safety practices during finishing activities

• Attend site meetings and provide technical input on finishing-related matters

• Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to address queries and provide solutions

• Prepare and submit finishing progress reports to the Senior Architect or Project Manager

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field

• Professional certification or license is an advantage

• Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in architectural finishing works on residential,

commercial, & hospitality projects

• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in finishing design and execution

• In-depth knowledge of finishing materials, construction techniques, and installation

methods

• Familiarity with building codes, fire safety regulations, and accessibility standards

related to finishes

• Proficiency in architectural software including AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp

• Knowledge of material scheduling and specification writing

• Strong eye for detail, color, texture, and material coordination

• Excellent site supervision and quality control skills

• Strong communication and coordination abilities

• Problem-solving mindset with ability to resolve site issues promptly

• Ability to work effectively with contractors, suppliers, and site teams

• Good organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Self-motivated with a commitment to quality and excellence

• Willingness to conduct regular site visits and inspections
