Job Description
A financial institution is looking for a suitably qualified person for the position of Assistant Human Resource Manager. Currently, the company works in all sixteen (16) regions across the country and serves over 250,000 customers through 154 Branches/Business Centres.
Job Purpose
• To assist in the development, performance and maintenance of Human Resource activities in the organization
Key Responsibilities
• Effective liaison, support and assistance between the departments and the entire organization
• Assist in identifying shortfalls in and/or improvements to policy and process, assess the effectiveness of current policies and processes and recommend and implement required changes
• Assist in carrying out interviews, including exit interviews, as required, providing effective feedback to managers and summary information for necessary reports
• Design and deliver training courses within the organization as required
• Assist in liaising with external agencies in relation to HR matters and the organization as a whole
• Assist in managing and directing the overall performance of the HR team
• Subject to agreed criteria, assist in recruitment, training, evaluating and managing performance, development, coaching and general support of all staff
• Reporting (content and format as agreed) monthly
• Assist in developing plans for team activities to include a strategy to achieve agreed targets
• Prepare and agree individual action plans and targets for all team members
• Assist in the development nd preparation of the organization’s HR strategy and general business planning
• Delegate authority and responsibility to the team with supervision, accountability and review
• Set an example for team members of commitment, HR activities, work ethics and habits and personal character
• Maintain accurate records as required
• Responsibly, us resources and control expenses
• Adhere to all organization policies and procedures
• Interact and cooperate with all the staff of the organization
Qualification Required & Experience
• A minimum of a First Degree in Human Resource, Social Science or equivalent qualification with professional certification
• Master’s degree will be a Plus
• Proven 5 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of the Labour Act and related labour regulations
• Experience with and ability to use HRIS
