A prestigious 4-star hotel in Accra is seeking a highly skilled, innovative, and experienced Executive Chef to lead its culinary operations. The ideal candidate will oversee all kitchen operations, food production, menu planning, cost control, hygiene standards, and team development—ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests.
🔶 Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction to the culinary department.
- Plan, organize and manage all activities within kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Lead menu development, recipe standardization, and food presentation to meet brand standards.
- Ensure effective budgeting, cost control, and achievement of targeted food cost across outlets.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene (HACCP), safety and kitchen sanitation.
- Collaborate with other departments including Food & Beverage, Purchasing, Stewarding, Engineering, Banqueting and Operations.
- Train, mentor and conduct performance reviews for all culinary team members.
- Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and ensure availability of supplies.
- Monitor competitor offerings and introduce innovative food promotions.
- Engage with guests and handle feedback professionally to elevate their experience.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety procedures and statutory regulations.
🔶 Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Minimum of Culinary Diploma.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as Chef de Cuisine or in a similar senior culinary role.
- Strong leadership, communication and team-building skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a multicultural environment.
- Experience with HACCP, food safety and hygiene standards.
- Highly innovative, creative, proactive, and detail-oriented.
- Excellent planning, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong knowledge of food costing, product specifications and kitchen operations.
- Computer literacy and strong managerial acumen.
- Flexibility to work long hours and adapt to operational demands.
