Job Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the hotel’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting management with accurate financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in budget management, cost control, and safeguarding the hotel’s financial health.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements, reports, and records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Monitor daily financial transactions and update accounting systems accordingly.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support management decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records of invoices, receipts, and vouchers.
- Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Monitor revenue streams and expenditures to optimize profitability.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ICA, CIMA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
