Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Head of Operations will lead Gamma Mobility’s core operations across multiple markets, ensuring vehicles are efficiently deployed, assets are safeguarded, and customers enjoy consistent service quality. This role oversees Field Operations and Supply Chain, with responsibility for vehicle lifecycle management, operational risk control, and maximizing asset uptime through strong OEM and aftersales partnerships. As a key member of the leadership team, the Head of Operations will drive scalable processes, discipline, and transparency to support Gamma’s growth ambitions across Africa.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership

●       Provide oversight and strategic direction to Field Operations and Supply Chain teams.

●       Design and implement operational frameworks that support scalability, cost efficiency, and vehicle protection.

●       Serve as the voice of Operations at the executive level, influencing Gigmile’s growth strategy.

2. Vehicle Lifecycle & Uptime Management

●       Oversee the end-to-end vehicle lifecycle: acquisition, distribution, deployment, monitoring, recovery, refurbishment, and redeployment.

●       Ensure optimal vehicle uptime by driving proactive engagement with OEMs and certified aftersales partners.

●       Monitor all aftersales, warranty and repair jobs to ensure completion within stipulated SLAs and to agreed quality standards.

●       Collaborate with aftersales and technical teams to strengthen preventive maintenance and warranty claim processes.

3. Risk & Control

●       Oversee frameworks for investigations, and incident management.

●       Ensure real-time monitoring and escalation of exceptions via the Control Tower (arrests, thefts, accidents).

●       Partner with QA & Compliance to ensure operational audits and adherence to policies.

●       Ensure resolution of all Exception Cases (Stolen, Accidented, Arrested) within the stipulated SLA

4. Supply Chain & Inventory Oversight

●       Lead the distribution of vehicles across cities, ensuring timely availability and proper documentation.

●       Ensure strong systems for parts and telematics inventory management with zero tolerance for leakages and losses

●       Manage telematics/SIM provider relationships to guarantee continuous monitoring capability.

5. Data, Reporting & Transparency

●       Build and maintain dashboards tracking deployment efficiency, vehicle uptime, recovery metrics, and aftersales performance.

●       Provide weekly/monthly operations reporting to senior management, financiers, and OEM partners.

●       Use insights to drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and asset economics.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

●       Work closely with Finance on operational cost reporting and budget alignment.

●       Partner with Credit Risk, Collections and Customer Success to ensure operational discipline supports repayment and customer experience.

●       Collaborate with Product & Technology teams to enhance control systems, telematics, and workshop visibility tools.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred).

  • 4–7+ years’ senior leadership experience in mobility, logistics, or fleet management.

  • Strong expertise in aftersales, OEM engagement, and SLA management.

  • Proven record of scaling multi-location operations in high-growth environments.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work in high-growth, fast-paced environments.
