Job Description
π Location: Meru/Isiolo, Kenya (Regular travel to operational sites)
πΌ Employment Type: Full-Time
Our client, a fast-growing agribusiness specializing in commercial beekeeping, honey production and processing, herbs production, value addition, and distribution, is seeking a competent Human Resource Officer.
The successful candidate will establish and manage the HR functions.
Key Responsibilities
β Coordinate recruitment, selection, onboarding, induction, and deployment.
β Maintain confidential employee records, contracts, and personnel files.
β Implement HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
β Manage employee relations, grievances, disciplinary processes, and workplace concerns.
β Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and teamwork across all operational sites.
β Monitor workplace relations and advise management on employee-relations risks.
β Coordinate probation reviews, performance planning, and appraisals.
β Support payroll by verifying attendance, leave, overtime, allowances, and employee changes.
β Administer leave and authorized absences.
β Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws, occupational safety requirements, and company policies.
β Support workforce planning, job descriptions, staffing structures, training, and development.
β Assist supervisors in applying HR policies consistently.
β Prepare HR reports on staffing, attendance, recruitment, grievances, turnover, and performance.
β Support employee welfare, engagement, workplace communication, and other HR/administrative duties.
Qualifications & Requirements
β Bachelorβs degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
β Minimum 3 years’ experience in a generalist HR role.
β Knowledge of the Employment Act, 2007, and Kenyan labour laws.
β Membership in the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
β CHRP-K certification is an added advantage.
β Experience supporting field-based, agricultural, manufacturing, or geographically dispersed teams is an added advantage.
β Knowledge of payroll administration, performance management, employee records, MS Office, and HRIS.
