Job Description
DLP Africa is hiring a Finance Manager to lead and shape its Finance function during a defining period of growth.
We are a Ghanaian communications and AI infrastructure company serving more than 40 enterprise clients across financial services, energy, retail, healthcare, and the public sector. Our platforms power voice, messaging, and intelligent customer engagement for some of the most recognisable names operating in Ghana and across the wider West African market. We are entering a phase of significant product expansion, deeper enterprise partnerships, and meaningful regional ambition.
The Finance function is central to that next chapter. We are looking for a qualified, commercially astute Finance Manager who will own the function end-to-end — and bring the discipline, judgment, and ambition that a growing technology business deserves.
This is not a maintenance role. It is a role for someone who wants to put their stamp on a Finance function and grow with the business.

What you will own
As Finance Manager, you will lead all aspects of financial management for the business. The role is broad and hands-on. The areas of responsibility include:
Financial reporting and management accounts. You will own the monthly close process and produce management accounts that the CEO and the leadership team can rely on as the single source of truth. This includes a structured monthly Management Report covering recurring revenue, consumption-based revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, and margin analysis. Monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements. Variance analysis against budget and prior periods. Maintenance of the chart of accounts and the integrity of the general ledger.
Cash flow and treasury. Weekly cash position reporting and rolling cash flow forecasting. Banking relationship management. Cash management discipline including any investment positions and capital movements.
Revenue and customer finance. Supervising the customer invoicing process to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Aged receivables management with a clear collections cadence. Working with the commercial team on pricing, customer profitability, and contract structuring.
Vendor and procurement finance. Vendor payment runs aligned with the cash position. Aged payables management. Internal controls on purchasing and authorisation. Input on vendor commercial terms.
Payroll, statutory, and compliance. Payroll oversight with accurate variable elements each cycle. Timely filing of all statutory obligations including PAYE, VAT, SSNIT, Tier 2 pension, NHIL, GETFund, and COVID levies. Tax planning and GRA relationship management. Companies Act and other regulatory compliance.
Audit and external relationships. Acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors. Preparing audit-ready accounts. Implementing audit recommendations. Managing the broader external finance ecosystem including auditors, tax advisors, and bankers.
Commercial and strategic finance. Supporting the CEO on capital allocation decisions. Scenario modelling for hiring, investment, and growth decisions. Margin analysis by product line and customer segment. Contributing financial perspective to strategic decisions including partnerships, product investments, and corporate development activity.
Team and function leadership. Supervising and developing the Finance team. Setting clear standards for monthly reporting, reconciliation discipline, and audit readiness. Building the function’s systems, processes, and controls. Being a credible Finance voice in the senior management team.
What we are looking for
Qualifications
- Qualified chartered accountant (ICAG, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
Experience
- A minimum of five years of post-qualification experience in finance roles
- At least two years in a finance leadership or supervisory position
- A demonstrable track record of managing a Finance function end-to-end, not just one part of it
- Experience in growth-stage businesses preferred; corporate or audit firm backgrounds welcome where commercial application is clear
- Exposure to the audit process — either trained in audit or extensive experience managing the audit relationship from the client side
- Industry experience in technology, telecommunications, fintech, financial services, or other high-growth sectors is a strong advantage
Technical skills
- Strong command of accounting principles (IFRS for SMEs / IFRS as applicable)
- Proficiency in cloud accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, Zoho Books, Xero, or comparable
- Advanced Excel — pivot tables, lookups, financial modelling
- Familiarity with modern payroll systems
- Working knowledge of Ghana tax and statutory requirements
The attributes that will set you apart
- Strong commercial judgment — you think like a business partner, not only as a technical accountant
- The ability to translate financial information into clear, actionable insight for non-finance audiences
- Ownership mindset — you treat the function as yours to build, not yours to maintain
- A balance of rigour and pragmatism — you hold high standards while moving at the pace a growing business requires
- The confidence to raise issues directly with leadership, paired with the maturity to do it constructively
- Personal integrity beyond question
What success looks like
This role is structured around clear outcomes. In the first twelve months, success means:
- By month 3: A monthly Management Report that the CEO trusts as the definitive view of the business. Aged receivables and payables under active management. Statutory filings current. The annual audit process runs cleanly under your leadership.
- By month 6: A monthly close calendar operating with discipline. Cash flow forecasting provides reliable forward visibility. Pricing and margin analysis informing commercial decisions. Internal controls documented and operating.
- By month 12: A Finance function recognised internally and externally as well-run and credible. The CEO is able to delegate financial decision-making with confidence. The function is positioned to support DLP Africa’s continued growth, including any corporate development activity ahead.
What we offer
- A competitive salary aligned with experience and the Accra market
- The opportunity to lead and shape a Finance function rather than inherit one fixed in place
- A direct working relationship with the CEO and a seat at the leadership table
- Exposure to the build-out of a growing technology business across multiple product lines
- Professional development support, including professional body fees and continuing education
- A workplace culture that values honesty, ownership, and meaningful contribution
