The Role

We have an amazing opportunity to be part of the team delivering landmark infrastructure projects that shape communities and drive economic growth.

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially astute Project Quantity Surveyor to join our Operations Team in Ghana. This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of major road, bridge, and concrete construction projects, where your expertise will directly influence project success, profitability, and delivery.

As a key member of the project team, you will work alongside experienced engineers, project managers, and international stakeholders in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

This is more than a traditional QS role — it’s an opportunity to lead commercial strategy on complex infrastructure works, negotiate high-value contracts, drive cost efficiency, manage claims and variations, and contribute to projects that leave a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to discuss project requirements
  • Participate in feasibility studies, site surveys, and estimations
  • Assist in preparation of contract documents
  • Generate BOQs from available drawings
  • Prepare RFQ packages and distribute to potential subcontractors
  • Assist in preparation and review contract documents with subcontractors
  • Allocate and review the subcontractor’s progress
  • Assist project director in identifying commercial risks and develop proper solutions
  • Analyse the project’s activities costs and report variances with planned
  • Maintain records of lost time for time extension preparation
  • Prepare cost reports
  • Prepare and submit Payment Applications and Claims and invoices to the client and follow up till approvals are granted
  • Administer subcontractor’s valuations and confirm their IPCs
  • Liaise with the client, client representatives, and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims, and additional payments
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and submit them in a timely manner
  • Help ensure that internal commercial processes are adhered to across the project team
  • Actively seek to improve processes and procedures
  • Hold a good understanding of the processes and procedures used
  • Abide with the company’s procedures and policies
  • Able to lead a team and support a positive work environment
  • Able to teach and train staff to increase competency and level of knowledge

Your Experience & Skills

Essential Criteria

  • Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying or HND/degree equivalent in Quantity Surveying
  • Membership or working towards Chartered Membership of Recognised Professional Body
  • Experience in the building/construction industry
  • Experience in road/bridge construction and concrete works is a plus
  • Familiar with FIDIC conditions of contract or other international forms of contracts
  • Knowledge and experience in administering variations and payment certificates and preparation and negotiation of final accounts
  • Knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis of construction works

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge or experience working with a CVR is an advantage
