About the Opportunity

A leading luxury hotel group in Accra is seeking an experienced, strategic, and people-focused Human Resources Manager to join its growing team.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for a seasoned HR professional with a strong hospitality background to lead and enhance the organization’s human capital strategy while ensuring the delivery of exceptional employee experiences that support world-class guest service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resource Management, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, policy implementation, compliance, and workforce planning. The role requires a proactive leader capable of building high-performing teams and fostering a positive workplace culture in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resource Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement HR strategies that support the hotel’s business objectives and growth plans.
  • Provide strategic HR guidance to management and department heads.
  • Drive employee engagement, organizational culture, and workforce productivity initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment of HR practices with hospitality industry standards and best practices.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment and selection processes for all levels of staff.
  • Develop talent sourcing strategies to attract and retain top hospitality professionals.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs to ensure smooth employee integration.
  • Support succession planning and workforce development initiatives.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Foster positive employee relations and maintain a harmonious work environment.
  • Manage employee grievances, disciplinary matters, investigations, and conflict resolution processes.
  • Promote employee engagement programs that enhance morale, retention, and performance.
  • Advise management on employee relations matters and employment legislation.

Performance Management

  • Coordinate the organization’s performance management processes.
  • Support managers in setting performance objectives and conducting performance reviews.
  • Identify performance gaps and recommend improvement initiatives.
  • Develop strategies to recognize and reward employee contributions.

Learning & Development

  • Assess training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
  • Design and implement learning initiatives to improve employee capabilities and service delivery.
  • Promote leadership development and succession planning across the organization.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, employment regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Review and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety requirements.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and mentor HR team members to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively and monitor team performance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the HR function.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline will be an added advantage.

Professional Certification

  • Professional HR certification such as CIPD, SHRM, PHR, SPHR, CIHRM, or equivalent will be an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive Human Resources experience within the hospitality industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing HR operations in a hotel, resort, hospitality group, or related service environment.
  • Proven track record in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Previous leadership experience managing HR teams and projects.
