We are seeking a highly motivated, knowledgeable, and proactive Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Officer to join our team and help drive a strong culture of workplace safety and environmental responsibility across our operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving health, safety, and environmental management systems to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company standards.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
  • Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and monitored effectively.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through continuous awareness campaigns and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness and response plans, including fire drills and evacuation exercises.
  • Ensure appropriate use and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across all operational areas.
  • Monitor workplace conditions to ensure employee health, safety, and welfare.

Environmental Management

  • Implement environmental management programs aimed at minimizing environmental impact.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and company sustainability objectives.
  • Monitor waste management, pollution control, and resource conservation activities.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and audits and recommend improvements where necessary.
  • Assist in developing environmental sustainability initiatives and reporting on environmental performance.
  • Monitor emissions, waste disposal practices, and environmental compliance indicators.

Training & Awareness

  • Conduct HSE induction programs for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Organize regular health, safety, and environmental training sessions for staff.
  • Develop and distribute safety awareness materials, toolbox talks, and educational campaigns.
  • Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on safe work practices and environmental responsibilities.

Compliance, Audits & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, permits, and documentation.
  • Coordinate internal and external HSE audits and inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local and international health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Prepare periodic HSE performance reports for management review.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders on HSE-related matters when required.
  • Monitor and report key HSE performance indicators and recommend areas for improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HSE reporting tools.
