Job Summary

Africa Ocean Bridge Maritime Operations Group Ltd is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Officer to oversee the company’s financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring sound financial management, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining regulatory compliance within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze, and manage financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow statements.
  • Monitor company expenditures and implement effective cost-control measures to improve financial efficiency.
  • Manage payroll administration, tax filings, statutory deductions, and all regulatory financial obligations.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights and recommendations to management for business growth and operational improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal financial policies.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
  • Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable records.
  • Assist in financial planning, budgeting, and investment decisions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MSc) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in finance, accounting, or financial management.
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, ICA, CIMA, or CPA will be a strong advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting and financial management software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Competencies

  • Strategic financial planning and forecasting skills.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and risk management.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data and present actionable insights.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience working in the maritime, logistics, or operations industry is an added advantage.
